This is a movie podcast about finding queer themes damn near everywhere. Hosts Alethia St. Joan and Danny Carroll share a 30+ year friendship that has been bound together by a shared love for movies. A trans woman and a gay man respectively, Alethia and Danny explore what these movies meant to them while they were young and closeted, and what revisiting these movies means for the actualized, arguably maladjusted adults they’ve become. I was too embarrassed to tell Steven Soderbergh how much I loved him while I was working for him, so instead we made this podcast about one of his most interesting and least recognized movies. What's queer about this one? Mainly how the nature of heartbreak and self doubt can rend reality and make you a stranger to yourself. Deep stuff! Great movie! Maybe Soderbergh will listen?
